For most calculations, I tried to:

• Triangulate a few sources.
• Provide a world-wide number.
• Use averages. For example, the average speed people read books or the average speed someone learns a language.

The data may not be perfect and you will naturally be faster/slower at some of these things, but the idea is to understand the degree of magnitude of things you can accomplish if you invest in the right things (for you).
